Sayed Chhattan Shah is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing and Digital Technology at Birmingham City University in United Kingdom. He earned his doctoral degree in computer science from Korea University in 2012 and holds a master's degree in the same field from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, awarded in 2008.
Prior to joining Birmingham City University, Dr. Shah served as an Associate Professor of computer science in the Department of Information Communication Engineering at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea. His academic journey includes regular and visiting faculty positions at renowned institutions such as Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Korea University, Dongguk University, and Hamdard University.
In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Shah has extensive professional experience, including roles as a Senior Researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute in South Korea and a Software Engineer with the National Engineering and Scientific Commission in Pakistan. His research interests are in the areas of parallel and distributed computing systems, mobile cloud and edge computing systems, and the Internet of Things. Dr. Shah has successfully secured funding for his research from various government agencies and foundations.
As a seasoned academic, Dr. Shah is recognized as a senior member of the IEEE, a member of ACM, and several other societies. He has played pivotal roles, serving as a conference chair and contributing to program committees for various international conferences. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access, Information Processing Systems, and Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing. Moreover, Dr. Shah actively participates in reviewing funding proposals for organizations such as the National Research Foundation Korea, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and Qatar Research Foundation.
